Marcel Hill is a graduate of Memphis State University with a Bachelor of Administration in Business and Economics.  Her training has continued in the Construction Industry by receiving Certificate of Training from Kentucky State University – executive Management along with Christian Brothers University, Tennessee State University and Chattanooga State Technical Community College.  Marcel started in the family seeding, sodding, trucking and hauling business in 1994 as a receptionist known as C.H. Hill & Son.  In 1996, she incorporated the business to C.H. Hill, Inc. in which they expanded into more earthwork, erosion control and roadway construction.  In 2003 she began the third generation of 100% ownership known today as Charles H. Hill Contractors, Inc. whereas they are continuing to provide all types of site work development and road construction.  The company under the new operation has received nominations from BBA in 2005 for Outstanding Women Owned Business Award and Outstanding Business of the Year.  In 2001 they were nominated for Inner City for Memphis, Thriving Urban Business, 2005 awarded by Shelby County Government Small Minority Business of the Year and in 2004 awarded by the City of Memphis for achieving one million dollars in revenues.
