Jimmie Tucker co-founded Self Tucker Architects (STA) in 1995 along with his business partner Juan Self. The firm currently has a staff of 24, is headquartered in Memphis with a satellite office in Nashville. Tucker has over twenty-five years experience as an architect, designer & construction manager including work as a builder in St. Louis and in the New York Metropolitan area. Tucker is most proud of the work done by his firm that has helped to revitalize neighborhoods and Downtown Memphis such as the National Civil Rights Museum, STAX Music Academy and Museum, and the College Park and Uptown Hope VI projects. In addition to his passion for Architecture, Mr. Tucker has directed his energies toward Real Estate Development. In 2004 he completed a program in Real Estate Development at the University of Southern California and lectures on the topic. He and Juan Self recently purchased the Universal Life Building, which they plan to renovate as a premier downtown office building.
